In the first division of the DGU league Old Colwyn's defeat at Llangollen condemns Wrexham to one of the 2 relegation spots. Moss Valley can become champions by beating Old Colwyn and Clays at home. Conversely they will be relegated unless they get at least 2 points from those fixtures. Should Moss fail to win both matches, the championship will go to either Old Colwyn or Clays depending on their respective results in their final match @ Moss Valley - currently both are on 4 points with Old Colwyn having won 2 more games.

Abergele become DGU division 2 champions with a 5-3 victory at home to Plassey on August 6th - congratulations to Abergele VC Donovan Jones and his team who have finished on 7 points after this their final match. Ruthin Pwllglas are confirmed as runners-up after Denbigh's victory at Rhos-on-Sea so Abergele and Ruthin Pwllglas are promoted to division 1 for the 2018 season.

In division 1, Old Colwyn's 6-2 victory at home to Clays on the same day instals them as favourites to become division 1 champions moving level with Clays on 4 points and having a game in hand. However both teams remaining fixtures are away from home so all to play for especially as Moss Valley could pip both should they win their 2 remaining fixtures which are both at home. Amazingly at this stage of the season any of the 5 clubs could be relegated to division 2 depending on how the remaining results pan out.

Abergele's comprehensive victory over Ruthin Pwllglas on August 7th means that Llangollen join divison 2  champions Wrexham in being promoted to Division 1 in 2017. Current tables and all results available by following link

This event scheduled for Friday August 12th at Clays has been CANCELLED due to insufficient entries.
Apologies to Clays for unnecessarily reserving tee times for this event.

Clays Golf Club have retained the division 1 championship finishing with an unassailable 7 points.
Rhos-on-Sea are division 2 champions with the most individual points in an extremely closely contested league with all 5 clubs finishing with 4 points.
Full details of results and league tables can be found in the DGU league section of the website under 'competitions'.

Although there were only 43 entries for this event held on August 13th at Rhos-on-Sea it turned out to be an excellent competition played in blustery but, thankfully, dry conditions. Last years winner of both the gross and nett seniors championships, Wrexham's Mike Lowe, made a spirited attempt to retain his titles but a disappointing last 2 holes saw him slip to fourth position in both competitions.

Once again however a single player scooped both championships and this year the successful player was Denbigh's Arthur Jones - many congratulations to him. Also in the prizes were Gary Roberts from Rhos-on-Sea (runner-up in the gross championship) and Old Colwyn's John Owens (runner-up in the nett championship) and Wes Jones (third in gross & nett).

There were 8 2's recorded each receiving a sleeve of balls from the County Captain Mr John Lewis during the prize presentation.
